FAQ
- How do I get a licence key?
- Keys are handed out by the owner. There is no registration or payment on this site. Contact the owner through the channel where you found Infinity.
- How many devices can use one key?
- By default two. A device is identified by a hash of a hardware identifier. If you change PC, ask the owner to reset the devices on your key.
- What data is sent?
To sign in, the launcher sends your licence key and a hash of a device identifier (HWID) to the licence server over TLS. The key is sent as is, the server stores only a hash of it, and the HWID never leaves your PC unhashed. The server answers with a short-lived token that the launcher and client use to fetch the signed file list and files.
The launcher also syncs the client config file (module settings, max 64 KB) with your account, so your settings follow you between devices. Gameplay data, chat, world data and your Minecraft account are not sent.
- Which Minecraft versions are supported?
- Java Edition 1.21.11 and 26.1, 26.2 and 26.3, on Windows 10/11 x64. Other versions are not supported.
- Is the launcher safe? Windows warns me.
- The launcher is not code-signed yet, which triggers SmartScreen. Verify the SHA-256 before running it. Details are on the download page.
- Can I use it on servers?
- Many servers forbid client modifications, and their anti-cheat may detect or punish them. Using Infinity on a server is at your own risk. Read and follow the rules of every server you join. Infinity gives no protection against bans.
- Is Infinity affiliated with Mojang or Microsoft?
- No. Minecraft is a trademark of Mojang AB / Microsoft.
